I’ve been playing guitar for close to 30 years and have never taken the whole humidifying thing seriously. I heard a loud crack from the studio last night and found a split in the top of my 70-year old Gibson J-45 from the bridge to the end of the body. This guitar has seen a lot of repairs over the years and this isn’t the first time this has happened, but it’s still quite concerning!

Needless to say, it’s in the case with some damp sponges. Should be okay once moisture is returned. Lesson learned, and it’s especially important to take care of your instruments in these cold and dry months! -Jason
